Ophanim Crinoid Synthetic Aperture THeDAR

Ophanim Crinoid Synthetic Aperture THeDAR

Designed and manufactured by Ophanim Surveillance Technologies, the Crinoid-H is a terahertz-spectrum synthetic aperture surveillance platform designed for outdoor use. The Crinoid-H has become a common sight in the Hegemony security zone, as well as around other sensitive infrastructure, forward operating bases, and the like. The Crinoid-H provides clothing-penetrating, all-weather, night-and-day 360° coverage, with a cited interferometric range of up to 500 meters. This capability is provided by six independent Serillel Plasmonique marzelvanes under the dynamic control of an embedded sublect. This sublect can—either alone or in coordination with other Crinoids—perform high-speed individuation, identification, disposition labelling, and anomaly detection across entire crowds of people simultaneously.

The Crinoid comes in two other variants:

  • Crinoid-S: A space-rated model with an attractive white ceramic finish, generally used for docking assistance and EVA tracking on-orbit.

  • Crinoid-Ha.2: An unbranded variant used within the Presiserpial Palace, with an elegant spherical profile and petal-like marzelvanes. The original Ha.1 design was recalled after a palace gardener was almost killed by one of the petal-like marzelvanes collapsing onto his head during a public tour. The root cause of this incident was identified as an oversight in hydraulic design, and the gardener made a full recovery.
